So it was, that in the waning days of the summer of ’89, Thomas, the Second Earl of Shultz — a freelancing designer, illustrator, and humorist of creative repute — did, through complicated circumstances, conceive to arrive in the venerable Charter Oak State by way of the bustling suburban train stop of Silver Spring, Maryland. At once he endeavored to practice his creative trade amongst the local Nutmeggers as he had pursued quite gainfully and previously about the region of our Nation’s Capital.
The young entrepreneur proposed to then call this enterprise:
